Warming Up! RV Campfire Cocktail Recipes

Miscellaneous

No one likes the cold. Those frigid subzero temperatures that leave you chilled to the bone. But there are a few good things about the cold. Like cuddling up next to your loved one in your family fifth wheeler, or enjoying warm beverages in your bunkhouse under a blanket. Maybe also with your loved one? We’re all adults here! And that means you deserve some tasty adult beverages to warm up this winter.

Mulled Cider Sangria

Who says you can’t continue enjoying a summer best all year long? This mulled cider sangria is a warm twist on a summer favorite (see our camping sangria recipe). Not gonna lie, it’s going to take some time, but we promise your rig will smell heavenly (and it’ll be well worth it). Trust us, this drink is perfect for snuggling up with a good book under a blanket.

Ingredients:

  • 1 quart apple cider
  • 3 tbsp mulling spices
  • 1 muslin bag or cheesecloth
  • 1 bottle white wine
  • Apple slices
  • Cinnamon sticks for garnish

Mixing:

Pour your apple cider into a slow cooker or small sauce pan on low heat. Wrap mulling spices in cheesecloth or muslin bag and drop into apple cider. You can also use a strainer and strain the spices out of the liquid after cooking. Heat on low for 3-4 hours. Add white wine to your mulled cider, and serve with apple slices and a cinnamon stick for garnish.

Drunken Pumpkin Latte

This one’s really easy (and delicious)! Did some unexpected company drop by? The Drunken Pumpkin Latte is a simple recipe with few ingredients, and almost no prep time. Not to mention it’s easy to scale to any serving size. This beverage pulls us back to those warmer, smell-good fall days, which definitely pushes it into our top ten for winter faves.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup brewed coffee
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ¼ cup RumChata
  • 2 Tbsp. pumpkin pie vodka
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • ⅛ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • Optional: whipped cream and ground cinnamon for topping

Mixing:

Add the sugar and cinnamon to a mug of coffee and stir until it’s dissolved. Add the remaining ingredients and stir. Top with optional whipped cream ground cinnamon.

Warm Winter Margarita

Margaritas are great by the poolside, but what about by the fireside? We’ve done a recipe on a summery strawberry margarita, but this warm spin on a cold beverage warms us to our toes! It’s got the perfect blend of cinnamon, spice and everything nice in one toasty mug.

Ingredients:

  • 3 ½ cups (28 ounces) apple juice or cider
  • 1-2 sticks of Mexican cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons granulated cane sugar (optional)
  • 1 cup dried fruit of your choice (I like apricots, apples, cranberries, tart cherries, and golden raisins)
  • ¾ of a cup (6 ounces) tequila blanco or reposado (whichever you prefer)

Mixing:

Boil apple juice or cider and cinnamon sticks, then simmer for 10-15 minutes. Remove cinnamon sticks. Stir in sugar and tequila. Pour into mugs and add dried fruit to each serving just before enjoying (so they don’t rehydrate). The recipe makes four to six servings, depending on serving size; perfect for company!

Hot MMM

What does the MMM stand for? We don’t know. We just thought it meant mmmmmmm delicious! This tasty treat is the best of all worlds – coffee, rum and a little citrus finish. But really, it’s a delicious addition to your (particularly) chilly day. You be the judge. Oh, and if you find out what that MMM really stands for, give us a holler.

Ingredients:

1 oz dark rum

3/4 oz Tia Maria coffee liqueur

1 1/2 oz milk

1 1/2 oz cream

1 twist orange peel

1 twist lemon peel

Mixing:

Heat all ingredients in a heat-resistant glass or cup. Add twists of orange and lemon peel, and serve.

We’ve got everything to fit your fancy. So go ahead. Give one (or all of them for our overachieving readers) a try! You’ll find a new favorite warm-me-up beverage you and your loved one can enjoy to add the perfect amount of warmth to your Good Life this winter.
