Just step outside and you know… fall is here! There aren’t many people that don’t like this season. Nature turns beautiful orange, gold and yellow; cooler temps mean warm sweaters… and can’t forget that pumpkin spice, of course! As we move into apple and pumpkin season, try these drink recipes out at your home away from home next get together to get everyone in the mood for the season. Kick the campfire into high gear – it’s cocktail time! (Disclaimer: Have some fun with these fall drinks… but please don’t find yourself falling over!)

 

Autumn Punch

Those fall evenings are a great time for campfires and time together celebrating life with family and friends against a beautiful colored background. This autumn punch is a quick, easy recipe that can be made for your next gathering, and is an equally beautiful accent color for your party.

Ingredients:

3 oz cherry wine

1 oz Deep Eddy cranberry vodka

1 oz Kinky liqueur

1 oz orange juice

Crushed ice

3 McIntosh apples, thinly sliced

Directions:

Add cherry wine, cranberry vodka, Kinky liqueur and orange juice to a martini shaker and shake well. Strain into a stemless wine glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with thinly sliced McIntosh apples. Makes 1 serving.

Apple Cider Margarita

Sail from summer straight into fall with this version of margaritas. It’s an easy mix for a duo or a group and the perfect blend of sweet apple goodness. Pair with your favorite flannel shirt, boots and great company for optimal enjoyment.

Ingredients:

6 oz apple cider

4 oz Hornitos Black Barrel tequila

1 oz ginger simple syrup

1 oz orange liqueur

Apple slices for garnish

Cinnamon sugar for rim

Directions:

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the apple cider, tequila, ginger simple syrup and orange liqueur. Shake until chilled. Strain into ice filled glasses. Garnish with an apple slice.

Apple Pie Moscow Mules

A fall twist on a classic favorite. This drink is making its comeback into the mainstream, so if you haven’t jumped on the Moscow train, here’s the perfect opportunity for you to show off your mixology skills. They’re easy to make and delicious all the way down.

Ingredients:

4 oz apple cider

4 oz apple pie vodka (or caramel vodka)

1 bottle ginger beer

Cinnamon sticks and apple slices for garnish

Directions:

Fill two copper mugs with crushed ice. In a cocktail shaker, combine the apple cider and vodka. Shake to combine. Pour half of the apple cider mixture into each mug. Top each mug with ginger beer until full. Garnish with cinnamon sticks and apple slices.

Bourbon Cider Sours

For our dark liquor people out there, this fall drink is for you. The sweet tang of the apple cider and orange juice are a perfect compliment to the bourbon bite (maybe you can even convince some of those dark liquor haters out there to give this one a shot). Don’t miss this sweet mix this fall.

Ingredients:

3 oz (two shots) of bourbon

1 cup apple cider

½ cup orange juice

¼ cup sugar

Crushed or cubed ice

1 gala or honeycrisp apple, sliced

Directions:

Mix the bourbon, apple cider, orange juice and sugar together. Place the ice in the serving cups and pour the liquid over the ice. Garnish with apple slices.

Rumchata Pumpkin Lattes

We can’t really do a fall posting of fall drinks without sneaking a pumpkin spice recipe in here can we? No, we didn’t think so either. Pumpkin spice lovers rejoice! This recipe is a great blend of that pumpkin and cinnamon flavor you’re looking for. It’s your morning cuppa joe all grown up.

Ingredients:

4 cups coffee

2 cups milk

1 cup of half and half cream

¼ cup pumpkin puree

⅓ cup sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

8 shots RumChata

Whipped cream

Directions:

Pour the coffee, milk, cream, pumpkin, sugar, vanilla and pumpkin spice into a crock pot. Cook on high for an hour and stir. Turn to low and continue to cook until hot. Ladle into mugs and add one shot of RumChata to each. Top with whipped cream and pumpkin pie spice.
